Winterplace weather - 50 degrees and freshsnow

It's currently 27 degrees in Winterplace but the temperature is projected to reach 50 degrees on Saturday with fresh snow on Sunday. Sounds like fun.

The cost should be between $15-20 for the Comfort Colors pocketed short sleeve shirt the same color as the shirt the design is on.

 

Ski - Snowboard trip info

The plan will be to leave as soon as possible once schools lets out. Most like 3:30-4:00 from St John's parking lot (upper). We'll get in late Friday night/early Saturday morning (8-9 hour drive,weather looks good for driving (bring pillow and activities as desired).  We'll leave Monday morning on the return trip and get in mid afternoon (3-4 pm). 

 

Food: breakfast will be at the Hotel. Lunch will be on at the ski hill (we'll bring snacks).  Dinner will be out in local area or we'll order pizza. 

 

- 16-19 Jan (leave Friday right after school and return Monday)

- $79.00 per day for lift ticket and ski rental ($158.00)

- $98.00 per day for lift ticket and snowboard rental ($196.00)

- Lodging: Holiday Inn Express Princeton WV. Cost is $205 per person for 3 nights ($68.00 per night). 2 per room (2 queen size beds per room). I have reserved 5 rooms at this time. 

- Total cost: appr $368.00 lodging/skis/lift ticket (snowboarding $38.00 more).

 Look like weather over the weekend will be highs 30-40s, lows 20-30s, and Sunday. 

 

Winterplace has a 52" base, 2" on new snow and 23 trails open.

Planning for the snow boarding and ski trip continued at this week's meeting. The snow report is looking good. Winterplace which reports  52" base, 2" on new snow and 23 trails open. Other activities are in the planning staged for this spring and summer. If you have an idea of something you want to do lets discuss it and get the ball rolling. 

If you have never been snowboarding or skiing before and we can have some pre travel instructions  and tips. We have several members that are capable of getting you up the hill and down the slope. Lessons are also available at the slopes.

Urban Rocks - indoor rock climbing

Over the weekend we checked out "Urban Rock" the indoor rocking climbing facility in Chattanooga. It was well worth the 2 hour drive.  The gym has approximately 25,000 square feet of bouldering and climbing walls which is 3 to 4 time as large as any local place we know about. The rates were reasonable and the staff was great, plus it was not overly crowded. Its well worth the drive to have fun and get a great upper body work out. Here is the link to the gym.

Ski Trip

Crew 007 is planning a ski and snowboard trip to Winterplace, West Virginia February 13th-16th.  Planning is ongoing,  but it's still not to late to join in.  If you or anyone you know is interested in going then they should contact an adult leader for more details.
